Upgrades for VeloBoxes

Our VeloBoxes have been carefully designed to provide full flexibility with minimal user disruption. Remove one wheel holder and two bike spaces are converted into one larger space to accommodate a mobility scooter. If a VeloBox is fully converted to store just mobility scooters, one unit can securely store three scooters.

Cargo bikes offer cyclists a practical alternative to owning a car or van thanks to its heavy-load bearing capabilities - and not forgetting, helping users lower their carbon footprint. Each VeloBox can be adapted in two ways to suit different cargo bike designs:

• Adding heavy-duty cycle loops to securely lock and store up to three bikes in one VeloBox unit
• For cargo bikes which follow a Dutch-style design, the bike rack can be removed to store two bikes in one VeloBox unit

To ensure user safety, loading and unloading access is from the pavement which also avoids motorbikes and cars blocking access. Units can also be converted back to a standard VeloBox unit should user requirements shift.

We offer various virtual key systems to replace the traditional lock and key for each VeloBox unit if preferred. We offer individual key card systems in addition to dongle fitting to allow for electronic key access via phone notification and Near Field Communication controls.

This handy little loop offers users an additional level of security for their bikes. Bolting from the inside of the gable end of the VeloBox, it creates an external secure loop for users to use their own lock to secure a larger cargo bike.

The VeloBox isn’t just a place to park up your bike, users can plant themselves down with the Habitat upgrade. Providing a place to sit and relax, we add a semicircular unit to one or both ends of the VeloBox to provide a seating bench, flower planter or a hybrid half bench and half planter seating environment.

For e-bike charging, each fire-proof VeloBox unit can be fitted with six charging points to charge e-bikes safely and securely outside rather than inside buildings which can void building insurance policies.

Keeping public cycle storage clean and accessible can be challenging, particularly in areas affected by leaves, debris and litter. Our mesh leaf and rubbish protection, complete with a rubber door flap, is a simple, low-maintenance upgrade designed to prevent build-up inside the VeloBox, reduce puddling and water accumulation, and add an extra layer of anti-crawl protection.

Designed to fit retrospectively, this practical enhancement can be added to existing VeloBoxes to improve cleanliness, safety and ease of maintenance throughout the year.
